Office Policies
Insurance Policy
We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, Medicare, and United Healthcare. Most major insurance companies follow Medicare guidelines when reviewing chiropractic claims. Medicare guidelines state, “Medicare covers manipulation of the spine if medically necessary to correct a subluxation...”. Medical necessity is defined as “health care services or supplies needed to diagnose or treat an illness, injury, condition, disease, or its symptoms and that meet accepted standards of medicine.” In short, pain related to an injury may be covered, but not guaranteed. In those instances that insurance will not cover care, our cash rates will be applied. Most policies that do offer coverage for chiropractic care are only able to cover a certain number of adjustments per year. This means that after so many adjustments, your remaining visits may be considered wellness/maintenance and therefore are not covered by most policies. Our office offers affordable cash rates for practice members wanting to receive chiropractic care without utilizing insurance.
Financial Policy
Payments are due at the time of service and you will only be charged for services rendered. Because our office offers payment plans to make care affordable for its practice members, we do require a credit or debit card to be kept on file. We do accept cash, debit or credit, as well as HSA and Flex Spending Cards. Before you start care in our office, a team member will sit down with you to discuss the doctor’s recommendations and the payment options.
Stopping or pausing care
We understand that opportunities may not always present themselves at convenient times – in that case, if you need to stop or pause care for whatever reason, please let our team know. Our billing department will do an audit of your account to see how many adjustments have been received and how many payments have been made. Depending on when care is ended, there will either be a balance owed to our office, or back to you, the practice member. Please note, insurance processing can take up to 60-days. This may cause a delay in closing your account if we have submitted claims to insurance. Your health records will always be here, along with our genuine care for you and your health.
Cancellations and no-shows
Sometimes life throws us curveballs and scheduling issues arise. We try to be as accommodating as possible by sending appointment reminders 1-hr before your scheduled visit and by providing our SKED office app that you can easily communicate with us or move your appointments. If you still find yourself unable to make your visit or unable to reschedule to another time either through the app or by calling us, our office will charge a $25 no call no show fee because an appointment time was reserved for you. As a courtesy, we ask that you cancel or reschedule within 24 business hours of your appointment. This allows us to better serve the practice members in our office by providing appointment times that accurately reflect our schedule.
